Rise Up, O Love!

I had never understood Song of Solomon & didn't get why God wanted it in there. Then last Sunday, Pastor Jeff, (from pure life ministries) spoke & really broke it down to show that The Lover is Jesus & we, the Church, His Beloved. Today, I took my Bible & my notes & read the book of Song of Solomon over again. Wow!

Song of Solomon 5:1-16 &
Song of Solomon 6:1-3

*The Lover is knocking on His Beloved's door (Jesus stands at the door, knocks and calls out)

*His Beloved won't even get out of bed (we turn a deaf ear & don't want to be troubled)

*But as He put His hand by the latch of the door (as He reaches out to us)

*Her heart yearned for Him (we realize that He is who we desire)

*She arose to open the door for her beloved (we repent & go to tell Him that we want Him.)

*But when she opened the door for her Lover, He was gone.

*His Beloved starts to call out to Him, to search for Him & seek to find her Lover.

*Those in the street find her, beat her, bruised her & take away her veil. (she has now a taste of
what He went through to get to her)

*She gives a charge to the Daughters of Jerusalem, that if they find her Lover, tell Him that she is faint & lovesick for Him

*They ask her who is her Lover over others (what makes Him so special, they ask)

*She begins to describe Her Lover: His complexion, His head, His hair, His eyes, His cheeks, His lips, His arms, His body, His legs, His countenance, His mouth and how He is like none other. He is altogether lovely.

*O daughters of Jerusalem, "This is my Lover, this is my Friend!"

*They reply, "Where is He that we may seek Him with you?"

*He has gone to His garden, to the beds of spices, to feed His flock & gather lilies.

*I am my Lover's and my Lover is mine! He feeds Hisflock in the garden.
